on Aug 07 2008 05:47 AM Wow. I have been a little worried about how this was going to turn out, even with the stellar people attached to act, direct, write and produce this film. Needless to say, after seeing those photos...well, I'm stoked. Hillcoat has the imagery conjured in the novel down pat. I'm also very happy that they went with a little bit older child to play the son. Thar be trouble in those waters when you get really young kids in front of a camera and expect them to convey intense emotions. Can't wait! (Reply to this) |

on Aug 07 2008 07:49 AM I pictured the characters as more emaciated and gaunt (especially the boy)...but I wouldn't want the actors to go to the lengths necessary to pull that off. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 07 2008 08:13 AM High hopes. I need to read the novel, as it was recommended to me. But this makes me excited: "We didn't want to go the CGI world." Thank God for that. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 07 2008 11:51 AM In reply to this comment (#1959886) I think I'll start waving a terrible towel at the Tropic Thunder premiere. Then I could make Ben Stiller not laugh, instead of the other way around. (Reply to this) |
