on Feb 26 2007 07:10 PM I have to grit my teeth while I do this :-) but I will agree that Pan's was not as great as I was hoping based on all the praise. It was an okay film, imaginative in spots, but certainly not one of Del Toro's best. That honor (IMHO) belongs to The Devil's Backbone. I haven't seen Lives of Others yet, since Charlotte, for all its pretentions of being a world-class city, takes forever to get foreign films, but I will definitely check it out when it finally comes.. on Feb 26 2007 09:36 PM Babel wasn't that great. 21 Grams is a better work of his anyways. Also, unless it's within film circles, no one will remember The Lives of Others or Pan's Labyrinth. This is America, who watches foreign films? (Reply to this) |

on Feb 28 2007 07:48 AM In reply to this comment (#856644) I'm speechless Wait...let me get this straight. u watched that whole moving thinking that girl was chinese?? I hope you are kidding...or i will be forced to disregard your whole comment as useless and not worth considering. For wat its worth, I thought Babel was okay...interestingly cut, but I really didn't like the Departed...considering i'm the few on this site that has actually watched the original... on Mar 03 2007 12:37 PM I haven't watched the original, but I did watch The Departed last night and I'm sorry to say that I didn't much care for it at all. I was very disappointed. How Scorsese could win for this and not Goodfellas is beyond me. (Reply to this) |
