Oh man, you know out of all the Marvel comics I used to collect when I was younger, the Wolverine title and the Spider-Man title were my two favourites.
I actually got rid of all my Marvel comics a long time ago, sold them all to a bookshop for a bit of cash… but the Wolverine and Spidey, they stayed with me, I still got them.
That trailer just made me very very happy.

Oh gawd, why is Gambit in here? I’ll love finally seeing him on screen, but tossing things in Wolvies origin just because we were screwed out of them being in X-Men doesn’t help. You guys on Movie Blog are Canadians, how do you feel about Alpha Flight not being part of his origin. Was Stryker American or Canadian? The trailer looks nice but I would have rather seen (maybe we’ll actually get in the end) Logan haning out in Japan and Hong Kong for a few decades. As long as there are no “Bone claws” though it’s all a net plus.

I like Schreiber as Creed, but the plot (or what I can make out of it from the trailer) bores me. Another “Assemble mutants to fight in a special squad”-thing? That’s not Wolverine: The Origin Story, that’s just an unofficial X-MEN 4.
And I still have no idea whatsoever what Gambit is doing in this movie. They should have waited to bring him in for a proper fourth X-Men installment. Would have made much more sense.
For now, I’m not sold on this at all yet. I will wait how the reviews turn out.

I used to be a Gambit fan but that wore thin. The real story of Gambit lies in the Mutant Massacre and Sinister, so as much as I don’t mind him making an appearance I would sooner it just be in passing.
As far as Alpha Flight being in his “origin” remember that although Alpha might have been party to the WeaponX project, Logan had a LONG history before that. The first time we see Wolverine is Fighting the Hulk and Wendigo in the Canadian wilds. However I would love to see some Alphas make some cameo appearances here.
I would presume Hollywood will make Striker is an American officer, though the movies made it pretty clear the base at Alkali Lake was the home of the WeaponX project, so they smudge over that. WeaponX was a Canadian operation.

Mozzerino, if you read the Origins of Wolverine, he got that code name in the WeaponX project. A supersoldier team task force of augmented mutants and humans.
That was in his origin, but as stated above, Logan had a lot of story before he was given the code name of Wolverine.

he said he got interested by some aspects of wolverine like rage,lonlines and wanted to go deep on this aspects.

bove of then dont like the material as a full package but just some aspects of it,i think is the reason why “singermans retruns”was a fail.
nolan use all the aspects of the batman (the character and his universe)and thats why works so well.

I wanted this movie to be good. I see the potential for so much fail in that trailer though. I hope it’s better than that, I really do. Deadpool with no mask, the presence of Gambit, and some all-too generic action movie explosions make this look like it could suck. I really hope I’m wrong though. Hugh has the possibility of carrying the film and I respect his acting chops and experience with the character.

This movie looks almost as half-assed as X-Men 3, but at least it doesn’t look 100% unwatchable like X3 was. Probably only 75% unwatchable.
Don’t get me wrong, I will definitely go see it, but it looks like a cluster-F of meaningless action scenes (not always a bad thing).
I just hope they focus on Wolverine instead of throwing 100,000 different people in it and not focus on anyone at all like they did in X3.

My take is this…
When we were kids, playing with our action figures, we didn’t nit-pick about the stories we were acting out at the time. We didn’t sit around and theorize about what should or should not happen. If we wanted Batman to fly, he flew, who cares if it doesn’t match the comics. One day people will realize that film and comics are too different to fully realize anything.
Take this movie for what it is: a chance to see a story with some of our favorite characters.

I like what Liev appears to be brining to Sabertooth and it seems as if he and Hugh play well opposite each other. Some of the action does look typical, but it’s all out of context, so it may work better when the movie is viewed as a whole.
I might be happy to finally see Gambit on the big screen, but I think still it’s a lame idea to put him in the Wolvie flick.
Still looking forward to May ‘09 …I really want this to be an enjoyable flim.

At first I thought some of the shots looked a little too, goofy and neon (you know like, Batman & Robin neon).
Sure it could’ve been the bad quality (probably is too), but then again the movie does take place in the 70’s, right?
Now, my only “concern” is that what happens to these other characters? Logan doesn’t age, but as I recall this doesn’t count for the Gambit, Blob or Deathpool (not the mention the other fan favorites in the film). So, what are they all going to be in their middle age’s if they ever get chosen for a new X-men movie?

This movie “LOOKS” like it’s going to kick so much ass.
Of course they’re probably gonna mess it all up by killing one of the main characters like Dead Pool Probably, or Gambit but I pray to God that they don’t. I know in the comics and cartoon Wolverine and Gambit really don’t like eachother so I don’t know if they’re going to use that story line in the movie. Also I’m not very interested in Sabretooth, he looks like some douche who hasn’t cut his finger nails in a while. Other than that I have low standards for this movie, and hopefully when it comes out it’ll blow me away.

sorry for anyone who doesn’t like the “bone claws” but yes they’re in here. he was born with them, or at least after the origins comic came out a few years back and made it so. but even older than that he had them still. i had a comic card that had a little story on the back about how he got them. after fighting magneto (who totally whooped his ass, ripped out the adamantium and left him for dead) wolverine crawled his way to a barn to heal. broke a steers neck and ripped out its ribs for the claws. lol it was graphic as a 7 year old but now it’s just funny to me. DIE COW!!!

im sorry but all the stuff about gambit, i really dont care about him. yea wolverine and gambit had some missions together but who knows. i just want to see how this is going to turn out. it looks great and did you see dominic monoghan? i think that was him in the frozen cryogenic lab thing. i could be majorly mistaken. but at least they have his Origin mini series in it! that worried me the most! and yes there are bone claws in it. wolverine wasn’t born with adamantium metal. it was discovered that he has bone claws in wolverine #75, i actually still have that issue along with x-men 25 when magneto pulled the adamantium out of his skeleton. always wanted to see that on film dang it!. but any who this film looks great. im hoping for an R rating or at least a hardcore pg-13 rating. but who knows. fox likes to ‘kiddy’ things up and i heard they’re not happy with the cut. god help us all.

As usual, they change everythinh important innth xmen universe just because they want the non-comic-readers peope to “enjoy” it. Gambit is SO important to the X-MEN universe… i wish they haven’t included him in this altered version of weapon-X.
I have to rewrite this: I WANTED to see Gambit in a movie, but i suspect not in this one.
